About Into the Woods Counseling

I believe it is vital to meet you where you are and walk with you along YOUR path. Losses of all types, no matter how large or small they may seem to the outside world, shape us in profound ways. Receiving a medical diagnosis or coping day-in and day-out with a medical condition or other life loss can cause you to feel as though life is out of your control. I am here to help you find your “new normal” and provide support and compassion as you walk your path.

My specialties include medical crisis counseling and grief, loss, and life transitions of all kinds. I am especially passionate about companioning clients in their grief and working with clients that are struggling with a medical condition or new diagnosis.

A unique feature of my practice is that I also provide counseling outside of the traditional office setting, utilizing nature and the outdoors in the healing process. No matter the setting, I treat you as the expert on your life.

As someone who understands the transformative power of therapy, I am passionate about learning, listening, and bringing balance and wellness to the lives of my clients. About Nature-Based Counseling

There is a strong body of research suggesting that contact with nature increases mental health and psychological and spiritual development. Benefits include stress reduction, improved self-confidence and self-discipline, and an increased sense of community and belonging. By observing natural environments, individuals can cultivate positive attitudes, renewed attention, and increased mindfulness and sensory awareness. Nature can provide an appreciation of something larger than ourselves and a greater sense that the world is alive and meaningful. In addition, the physical activity associated with being in nature can decrease stress, anxiety, and depression and increase physical and psychological wellbeing.

I have a passion for sharing the great outdoors with everyone I meet, not only because of the beauty that can be experienced, but also because I truly believe in the healing powers of nature.
